Armed police arrest Hildenborough man James Martin after reports pair threatened at gunpoint in Wilson Road in Tonbridge

Armed police have made an arrest after it was reported a man and woman were being threatened at gunpoint in Tonbridge.

Officers were called to Wilson Road after reports a man was making threats to kill.

Police arrested and charged James Martin, 26, on suspicion of assault and possession of an air weapon.

Martin, of Hilden Park Road, Hildenborough, remains in custody.

No shots were fired during the incident at about 7.30pm on Saturday, police said.
