TV hard man and documentary maker Ross Kemp joins Labour candidate Will Scobie on election trail

TV's Ross Kemp joined South Thanet's Labour candidate Will Scobie on the campaign trail today.

Ross, who played Grant Mitchell in EastEnders before becoming a documentary maker, toured the area and met constituents in the latest of a series of big hitters from all parties to visit the target constituency.

Ross visited St Christopher's Church in Newington and addressed a crowd with candidate Will Scobie.

He also met resident Alice Shepherd, 89, of Ramsgate.

But Mr Scobie dismissed a recent Survation poll which put Ukip ahead in South Thanet.

He said that was not what they were finding on the doorstep.

But an election tour with a household name was never going to be run of the mill... when the bandwagon was joined by mice, a startrooper and Chewbacca.
