Tonbridge Juddians 22 Sevenoaks 6: National League 2 East match report

By Adam Hookway

Tonbridge Juddians rose to the occasion with a 22-6 derby win over Sevenoaks in National League 2 East.

Judds were in thank-you mode as they welcomed sponsors and supporters to their final league lunch of the season, and they got the right result with Bryan Hotston's third-minute try setting the tone.

Oaks didn't help their cause with yellow cards in the ninth and 17th minutes and midway through the half Hugo Watson doubled the try count, crossing out wide, and Tom White converted the extras.

Once back to full strength the visitors showed some threat but a penalty chance fell short. They made no mistake with two further penalties to get on the scoreboard, but a received their third yellow card just before the break.

TJs couldn't add to their tally with the extra man but White's 57th-minute penalty took Oaks out of bonus-point range and Duncan Tout shrugged off the challenges to claim a third try. White wrapped up the scoring with the conversion.

Tonbridge, in eighth place, finish their season at Rochford Hundred on Saturday.
