Armed siege man shot by police

A MAN was shot by police and taken into custody today following a siege at a house in Tunbridge Wells.

Sherwood Road was sealed off for much of the day as armed officers surrounded the building.

Police marksmen fired a baton gun at the man after he threatened them as he left the house. He was taken to hospital and treated for minor injuries.

Kent Police said the baton gun had been used as a "less than lethal option".
