The event will be hosted by Cohesion Plus and Kent Equality Cohesion Council.

Creative director of Cohesion Plus, Gurvinder Sandher said: “We are so excited to be bringing the Mela Festival back to Tunbridge Wells this year, with an artistic programme boasting a fantastic blend of local and national, culturally diverse talent.”

Opening the event will be a Ukrainian choir made up of those who have fled the war-torn country.

They will be followed by local groups including Paul Dunton Orchestra, Keralan dancers, Kent Keralites, and fusion brass band act, Baja Beats.

Also performing will be drummers Kings of Dhol and DJ Amit. Headliner Midnight Soul Sisters will close the mela with a mix of Motown, pop and soca music.

Craft beers, pimms and prosecco will be on sale from The Forum Bar.

“Make sure you support us by coming down to the free community celebrations. We look forward to welcoming you on the day,” added Gurvinder.
