A garden fire in Culverden Down, Tunbridge Wells was tackled by firefighters

Kent Fire and Rescue Service fought a fierce garden fire in Culverden Down, Tunbridge Wells.

Firefighters arrived within minutes after receiving the 999 call at 9.30pm last night. They discovered a small area of garden rubbish alight, which had spread to a garden shed and its contents.

It also caused damage to the rendering of a garden wall and destroyed a wooden gate.

The radiated heat also damaged a double glazed side window of property. Crews used a hose reel to put the fire out and a thermal imaging camera to check for fire spread.

Nobody was injured.
