Tunbridge Wells man charged after Christmas trees stolen from Tesco and perfume from Fenwick

A man accused of stealing Christmas trees and more than £1,400 of perfume will appear in court next month.

Thomas Robertson, 58, was charged with four counts of theft and attempted theft after a shopping centre was targeted last month.

Police received reports that on October 7, multiple items were stolen from Fenwick at the Royal Victoria Place complex in Tunbridge Wells.

It’s also been alleged that Robertson, of London Road, Southborough, targeted the same store on October 31, where more perfume was stolen, as well as attempts being made to steal from The Perfume Store.

An investigation from Kent Police found further reports alleged thefts of Christmas trees from Tesco in Pembury Road and at a nearby Boots store.

Robertson was arrested on Wednesday, November 8, and later charged.

He is bailed to appear before Sevenoaks Magistrates’ Court on Monday, December 11.
