Southborough: Motorcyclist remains in 'serious condition' after smash with car on A26 London Road

A motorcyclist involved in a smash with a car near Tunbridge Wells remains in a serious condition as police step up their investigation into the crash.

Emergency services were called to the scene on the A26 London Road in Southborough just after 2.30pm yesterday following the collision between a grey Citroen C3 Picasso and a blue motorcycle on St John's Road near its junction with Speldhurst Road.

A man was treated for leg injuries, among others, and was airlifted to Kings College Hospital in London, where he remains in a serious condition.

St John's Road between Speldhurst Road and Yew Tree Road was closed throughout the evening rush, only reopening several hours later.

Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are investigating the incident and are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen the vehicles immediately before or during the collision, or who may have dashcam footage, to get in contact.
