Police cordon off Asda supermarket in Longfield Road, Tunbridge Wells

A police cordon has been placed around an Asda supermarket in what is believed to be a raid on a cash machine.

The car park in Longfield Road in Tunbridge Wells has been cornered off following an incident involving a digger.

There are unconfirmed reports that the store has been raided by a JCB.

Writing on Twitter, Will Vernon said: "Eventful morning, Southeastern not running trains on Hastings line to London.

"I got a lift to Tonbridge and when driving past Asda it looks like someone has been enjoying a bit of late night shopping."

Paul Glover tweeted: "Apparently the Asda in Tunbridge Wells has been rambraides by a JCB."

It is not clear if the store, which usually opens from 7am to 11pm, will be operating as usual today.
