Poppy display appears on Tunbridge Wells town hall to mark centenary

A poppy display on the side of a town hall has been completed to mark the upcoming centenary of the end of the First World War.

Councils around the country are planning a number of events over the coming weeks to coincide with the anniversary, and to remember all those who lost their lives and then in later conflicts.

The display in Tunbridge Wells, which is made up of more than 20,000 knitted, crocheted or hand-crafted poppies, also features the following words from Robert Laurence Binyon's poem, For The Fallen: "They fell with their faces to the foe".
