Mr Harvey said: "The introduction of fresh Mexican cuisine to Tunbridge Wells some 20 years ago was an exciting adventure, and it’s been an incredible two decades for us. We have had fabulous staff work with us to help us make the restaurant a success, not leastour current Mexican chef, Daniel Gallegos, who comes all the way from Tabasco, and have built up great friendships with our regular customers.

“We have lots of exciting celebrations lined up to mark our 20 anniversary – we will be running special deals and events throughout June. We will be rolling out a new menu including more Mexican street food and we will be cooking outside regularly on Thursday to Sunday evenings.

"We need people to help us find great new premises that will help us grow Zapatas through the next decade and beyond to enable us to continue to serve great food in a fun, welcoming atmosphere" - Richard Harvey

Union House was bought by Dandara, last autumn. They have said publically they are considering all options for the 1960s building, including conversion, refurbishment or redevelopment.

Mr Harvey added: "We’re looking for premises that will keep the well-established and well-loved Zapata’s recipe of a warm welcome, Latin-themed setting, exciting cocktails and great, fresh Mexican cuisine in the heart of Tunbridge Wells.

“It needs to be able to seat at least 60 diners, and should ideally have space for a cocktail bar. An outside area would be helpful. We know what’s already available through the estate agents – but we’re looking for a great tip off that leads to us finding a new premise that isn’t currently on the market."

All suggestions should be sent to richard@zapatas.co.uk.
