Police make arrest after Tunbridge Wells 'stabbing'

Detectives investigating a stabbing in Tunbridge Wells have arrested a woman.

A woman was left with a knife wound to her arm yesterday afternoon in Mount Pleasant Road and was taken to a nearby hospital.

Two police cars were spotted outside JC Rook and Sons butchers and several officers were at the scene near the Opera House Pub.

A police spokesman said: "Kent Police was called at 3.34pm on Monday, April 3, to a report of an assault in Mount Pleasant Road, Tunbridge Wells.

"A woman, aged in her twenties, is reported to have received an injury to her arm, consistent with a stab wound.

"Officers attended and the victim was taken to a local hospital with a non-life threatening injury and has since been discharged.

"A 21-year-old woman, believed to be known to the victim, has been arrested on suspicion of assault and remains in custody."
