Woman rescued by firefighters after blaze in Tunbridge Wells

Fire crews pulled two women from a fire, which started in the basement of a property.

Firefighters were called to the site in Upper Grosvenor Road, Tunbridge Wells at 2.42pm on Saturday.

They entered using breathing gear and used a thermal imaging camera to check for any more victims trapped in the premises.

They tackled the fire with a hose reel jet and then cleared the building of smoke with a high pressure fan.

A spokesman for Kent Fire and Rescue said: "Crews were called to a fire in the basement of a property in Upper Grosvenor Road, Tunbridge Wells, and rescued two women from the property."

They did not leave the property until just after 5pm.
