A21 reopens between A262 Lamberhurst and Maidstone Road, Kipping’s Cross, after multi-vehicle crash

A major road was closed in both directions after a crash between five vehicles but has now reopened.

The A21 was closed between the A262 at Forstal Farm Roundabout, Lamberhurst and the B2160 Maidstone Road at the Kipping’s Cross Roundabout due to the collision at around 3.25pm today.

Police said the road was likely to remain closed throughout the afternoon.

National Highways traffic officers were helping direct traffic.

Fire and Ambulance services were also at the scene.

The closure affected drivers travelling between Tonbridge and Hurst Green with long delays in the area.

One person was released from the wreckage of a vehicle by firefighters after the crash.

Seven other people were treated at the scene by paramedics for a range of minor injuries.

Crews used hydraulic rescue equipment to make soace for paramedics to treat the trapped casualty before moving them to a waiting ambulance.
