Witness appeal after serious crash on A21 near Lamberhurst

Detectives investigating a serious crash which left a driver critically ill in hospital and three others injured are appealing for witnesses.

At around 6.05pm yesterday a grey Mitsubishi Colt was travelling along the A21 from the direction of Flimwell, East Sussex, towards Lamberhurst when it was involved in a collision with a grey Suzuki Swift and a silver Mercedes E220 approaching in the opposite direction.

A man, the driver of the Mitsubishi Colt, was seriously injured and flown by air ambulance to a London hospital, where he remains in a critical but stable condition.

The drivers of the other two vehicles and a passenger also reported injuries and were all taken to a local hospital.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision or anyone who saw the vehicles beforehand, to come forward if they have not already spoken to an officer.
