Hawkhurst:Police hunt man who stole cash from pensioner's home on Conghurst Lane

Police are hunting a man who stole cash from a pensioner's home in Hawkhurst after offering to sharpen tools.

The crook called at the house in Conghurst Lane on Wednesday, August 23 and asked whether the victim, a woman in her 80s had anything which needed sharpening.

She went to her rear garden shed to fetch a pair of shears, but when she returned found the man had gone. A wallet containing cash and bank cards left close to the front door had been taken.

Officers are going house to house and checking for any possible forensic clues.

The suspect is white and aged in his late 20s or early 30s. He had short brown or blonde hair and was wearing a blue top and light grey shorts.
