Man in his 70s taken to Tunbridge Wells Hospital in Pembury after being struck by golf ball in Clapper Lane, Staplehurst

An elderly man was injured in a freak golfing accident in Staplehurst.

The man, in his 70s, was struck on the back by a ball and collapsed.

Paramedics were called to Clapper Lane at 12.45pm on Saturday, and were later joined by an air ambulance.

He later regained consciousness in the ambulance, but was taken to Pembury Hospital in Tunbridge Wells with back pain.
