Motorcyclist dies and driver arrested after crash at A274 Headcorn Road in Biddenden

A motorcyclist has died at the scene of a crash with a Mazda.

The 50-year-old Suzuki rider, from Maidstone, was pronounced dead on the A274 outside Summers Motors in Biddenden just after 3.45pm yesterday.

The 57-year-old driver of the blue Mazda 3 car was unhurt and arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

He has been released on conditional bail until next February.

Michael Summers is owner of Summers Motors, a garage directly opposite the crash site.

He said: "There was a loud bang just outside. Emergency services were there very quickly. Police have asked everyone to stay back."

Police would like to hear from anyone who saw the crash or either of the vehicles just beforehand.
