The A21 at Lamberhurst was closed this morning after a car crashed into a telegraph pole.

The accident, which did not involve any other vehicles, happened near Lindridge Lodge Farm at 3.25am.

Two fire engines from Tunbridge Wells were called, and police and paramedics also attended.

The pole fell onto the front of the car, and a man and a woman were injured. One of the patients was taken to Tunbridge Wells hospital.

The road was closed between the junctions with the A262 and A228 and was expected to re-open from 10.30am.
