Dartford: Bill Kenwright's Dreamboats and Petticoats at the Orchard Theatre

Nostalgia and good tunes never go out of fashion, as Dreamboats and Petticoats The Musical has proved.

From the successful writing duo behind TV classics including Goodnight Sweetheart, Birds of a Feather and Shine on Harvey Moon, the musical has been going 10 years and is coming to Kent.

The Olivier-nominated Bill Kenwright show features classic tracks from Roy Orbison, The Shadows, Eddie Cochran and Billy Fury.

Set in 1961, emotions are running high as young musicians Norman and Bobby compete to win a national songwriting competition and the attention of the gorgeous Sue.

But when Bobby discovers that shy Laura is no slouch on the piano, love and rock‘n’roll fame beckons.

The show was inspired by the multi-million selling CD album series Dreamboats and Petticoats, the first of which was released 10 years ago and sold more than four million copies and spent several weeks at the No.1 spot.
