Iconic bass guitarist Bruce Foxton from The Jam and his band will headline this year’s Vicar’s Picnic.
Foxton together with Paul Weller co-wrote some of The Jam’s biggest hits in the late 70s and early 80s.
His band, From The Jam, a band he formed with guitarist Russell Hastings, will headline the main stage on the first night of the two-day festival in Yalding, which will be held on Friday, July 14 and Saturday, July 15 at The Lees.
Headlining the Big Top Stage for emerging talent, will be Glass Peaks Spell, a four-piece band from Bexley who are fast becoming one of the South East’s hottest new indie bands.
Previous years have seen Reef and Cast play the main stage.
Event founder and co-organiser Dave King said: “From the Jam has a following of thousands and we are confident a good number of them will come to our Vicar’s Picnic to see all that we have to offer here in Kent. We have always set out to bring the best to the Vicar’s Picnic to reward our loyal supporters and attract new blood and we believe From the Jam will tick both boxes.
“It will be a great end to the first day and, this year, we are proud to say - the public gets what the public wants!”
The festival this year will also feature poetry and comedy tents, a children’s play area and non-stop dance tent.
Early bird tickets are on sale in the village from the Post Office, Village Tea Rooms, Walnut Tree public house and the Chequers Inn, Laddingford, or by visiting vicarspicnic.co.uk
This year the event which has supported local charities over the years, will be supporting the West Farleigh-based charity Dandelion Time.
