Armed police called to Whitstable cemetery

Armed police rushed to Whitstable cemetery after a man called 999 saying he had a gun.

Officers were deployed to the graveyard in Millstrood Road after the distressed caller said he would use the firearm on himself.

The man was arrested and later referred to a mental health unit.

No gun was found at the scene following the call at 7pm last night.
