A driver has been injured after he crashed into a parked car on a driveway.

The incident happened at 3pm in Joy Lane in Whitstable, where his silver Mini crashed into a black people carrier.

Residents described hearing the high revs of an engine and then the crash opposite the Rose in Bloom pub.

The driver, believed to be in his 50s, was treated by paramedics with bandages to bruises and cuts on his face.

He has since been taken to hospital, fire crews remain at the scene clearing debris and smashed glass, while the police investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
