Crash on the A299 at Whitstable leaves three people injured and a woman needing to be rescued from car

A woman had to be rescued from a crashed car on the A299 Thanet Way at Whitstable yesterday.

Firefighters were called to the coast-bound carriageway at 5.30pm after the smash, believed to have involved just one vehicle.

They cut the roof off the car to help free the woman who was trapped in a back seat.

She was moved onto a spinal long board and taken to hospital by ambulance.

Two other casualties, a man and a woman, were also taken to hospital.

The fire crews left by about 6.10pm.
