Three teenage girls arrested after chucking eggs and assaulting a man in St Anne's Road, Whitstable

Three teenage girls have been arrested after a man was assaulted in a restaurant where it was reported eggs were thrown and bowls smashed.

Police are looking to speak to witnesses in connection with a disturbance in Tankerton on Monday.

Three girls have already been arrested but officers want to speak to anyone else who witnessed the events.

The group were reported to be threatening passengers on a bus at 4.37pm before they left and entered a restaurant in St Anne's Road.

Witnesses say they threw eggs across the restaurant, smashed bowls and assaulted a man while inside.

It was also reported the group laid down in the road causing a bus to stop.

Arrests were carried out for offences including burglary, public order, criminal damage and assault with the trio currently on bail.

Investigating officer PC Sarah Scurfield said: "We have spoken to a number of witnesses regarding these incidents but we know there were many more people who saw the group.

"We would urge anyone who may have seen the group to contact us."
