Suspected rogue traders arrested after elderly man allegedly targeted in Sevenoaks

A pair of suspected rogue traders have been arrested after they allegedly caused thousands of pounds of damage to the home of a man in his 80s.

On Saturday, May 11, the victim was approached by two men who offered to clean the gutters and undertake urgent roof repairs at the house near Seal Hollow Road in Sevenoaks.

Two days later, the pair allegedly turned up at the property and charged the victim an inflated price compared to their original quote for additional roof repairs.

The men also allegedly damaged the roof when they removed the lead flashing.

Police were called and later arrested two men in their 30s on suspicion of fraud by false representation, theft, and criminal damage.

Both men have since been bailed until August 16 pending further inquiries.

Anyone with information, private CCTV, or relevant dashcam footage, is urged to call the west Kent appeals line on 01622 604100 quoting reference 46/79558/24.
