STEADY drizzle forced a delayed start to Kent's one-day friendly with Sri Lanka A in Canterbury today.

Match umpires Mike Harris and Barrie Leadbeater inspected when the rain stopped at noon and hoped for a 1.15pm start, should it remain dry.

The toursits appear likely to include four internationals for the match, which was scheduled for a 10.45am start.

Kent will rest overseas stars Ian Butler, Andrew Symonds and wicketkeeper Geraint Jones, but will announce their side once the rain stops.
