Driver remains in serious condition following crash on A251 in Boughton Aluph, near Ashford

A man remains in a serious condition following a head-on crash, where a woman in her 60s died.

Two air ambulances were called to the A251 in Boughton Aluph near Ashford at around 3.30pm on Wednesday following an accident involving a Vauxhall Corsa and VW Passat.

A man and child were injured in the crash and were flown to a London hospital.

The child has since been discharged but the man remains in a serious condition.

The black Vauxhall was travelling towards Ashford when it collided with the VW heading in the opposite direction close to the junction with Wye Road.

A further four people reported injuries and received medical treatment.

Officers from the serious collision investigation unit are continuing to appeal for witnesses to come forward.
