Rail services are back running again between Dartford and London Bridge after emergency engineering works were carried out.

Urgent repairs were needed to the railway between Sidcup and New Eltham this morning which meant the London-bound line was blocked.

Southeastern services have been suspended or delayed from Dartford due to emergency engineering works needed at Sidcup

The line was reopened shortly before 9am.

Services which usually run on the Sidcup line towards London were diverted via alternative lines.

This led to some delays on alternative lines between Dartford and the capital due to the increased number of trains on these routes.

Services remain unaffected in the opposite direction from London to Dartford, via Sidcup.

Those who were affected by the earlier delay by more than 15 minutes can claim compensation here .
