An enterprise that started just before the first lockdown continues to thrive on its one-year anniversary.

Bells Kitchen, based in the Five Bells pub in Ringwould, has adapted through takeaways and non-contact deliveries via text and online.

It is also the only dedicated pie and mash business in the Dover and Deal area.

The enterprise, run by John Sheridan, has a five-star food hygiene rating from Dover District Council.

The food could be eaten inside the pub when the business began in late February last year, before coronavirus turned life upside down.

Mr Sheridan said: "Despite all the issues of 2020 and 2021, Bells Kitchen has now invested and moved onto online ordering and Facebook and is thriving here in Ringwould.

"We are looking forward to the day when we can offer our pie and mash at The Five Bells for customers to enjoy in friendly surroundings."

"Despite the issues of 2020 and 2021 Bells Kitchen is thriving."

Bells Kitchen offers traditional minced beef pies, including a gluten free version, as well as steak and kidney, cheese and onion and minced beef and onion.

All pies are served with mash and liquor for £5 with the choice of doubling up on pie, mash and liquor.
