Commuters are facing delays of at least an hour as emergency repair works continue on the M20 London-bound.

There are queues of over seven miles from the works, stretching back past Junction 8 for Maidstone services.

The work has seen three out of four lanes shut on the stretch of carriageway between junction 7 and junction 5.

Motorists are being advised to consider alternative routes if possible.

This is the second consecutive day in which works have overrun, after chaos on the same motorway yesterday.
