Delays on M20 due to overrunning roadworks near Leybourne

Drivers faced long delays on the M20 this morning because of overrunning roadworks.

The motorway was closed London bound between Junction 4 for Leybourne and Snodland, and Junction 2 for the A20 London Road (Wrotham Brands Hatch Circuit).

Three lanes were are also closed London bound between Junction 7 for Detling Hill and Junction 6 for Blue Bell Hill.

All the work was due to be completed at 6am but a broken down vehicle meant the road didn't reopen until 7.30am.
