Trains disrupted between Strood and Maidstone West due to broken down train near Aylesford

Services on a train line were disrupted due to a broken down train.

Delays were expected on the Medway Valley Line between Strood and Maidstone West until about midday after a train broke down near Aylesford.

The 9.33am train from Strood to Paddock Wood broke down between Aylesford and Maidstone Barracks.

The line was been blocked in both directions but the company said it had reopened shortly after 11am.

The broken down train is now on the move and lines have re-opened.

Delays are still expected until a normal service resumes.
