Police are asking the public to cast their minds back to an accident in Maidstone at the end of December.

A man in his 60s was knocked down by a car in Milton Street, close to the junction with Bazalgette Rise at about 12.15pm on Tuesday, December 29.

The victim, aged 69 and from Milton Street, was treated for his injuries at hospital. But he also received care for a separate medical condition and has since died at the hospital. His next of kin are aware.

It is reported the car involved in the collision was a silver Ford Focus and that it failed to stop and left the scene.

Shortly after the incident, officers arrested a 53-year-old local man on suspicion of driving offences.
