A Cavapoo found next to a busy road this morning has been reunited with its owner, but three other dogs are still missing from the kennels they were stolen from.

Seven-month-old Peanut was spotted wandering along the A249 in Maidstone at around 7am.

A motorist saw him on the central reservation of the road, also know as Detling Hill, between the Stockbury roundabout and the Kent County Showground.

The pooch was passed into the hands of the police, and with the help of his microchip, was then returned to the Foxborough Kennels in Sandwich.

Peanut was reported missing, along with eight other dogs, from the kennels on Saturday night by owner, Valerie May.

Besides Peanut, five of the animals have since been recovered, either close to the crime scene or in Swale.

But a female pug called Puggly, a male poodle called Buttons and a female cocker spaniel called Missy are still no where to be seen.

The business is a stud kennel and so some of the dogs are owned by Ms May, and some by other people.

Ms May said: "It's awful - we've never had anything like this happen before - we just want our dogs back."
