The 21-year-old was fatally stabbed in Maidstone on Sunday August 25.

His death came during violent scenes which erupted after a gig by London rapper MoStack, real name Montell Daley.

The teenager, from Hornsey in north London, who cannot be named for legal reasons due to being under 18, has also been charged with three counts of attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon.

He is one of five people who will appear in court on September 24 when pleas are expected to be taken.

He spoke only to confirm his name at Maidstone Crown Court as prosecutor Philip Bennetts QC outlined details of the future hearing.

The trial will take place either in Maidstone or at the Old Bailey in February next year and is expected to last a month.

No application for bail was made and the teenager's father was allowed to sit in front of his son for the 10-minute hearing in front of Judge Philip Statman.
