Name: Josh Wright Position: Midfielder

Will long be remembered at Gills for his nine-minute penalty hat-trick against Scunthorpe in March 2017. He scored 14 goals last season, prompting speculation that he could be on his way out of the club, as bigger teams began to take note. Prior to his current spell he helped Gills to play-off glory in League 2 while on loan during Mark Stimson's reign.

Left the club at the end of August 2017 after a public fall-out with head coach Ady Pennock. The Gills boss claimed Wright refused to sit on the bench against Southend, a claim rejected by the player on social media. Wright then agreed to tear up his Gills contract and leave the club, despite having a year left on his deal.
