Electrical fault results in cancelled rail services between Paddock Wood and Maidstone West

Southeastern was forced to suspended rail services between Paddock Wood and Maidstone West because of smoke coming from electric cables beside the track.

The company said passengers could use the No6 Arriva bus service between Paddock Wood and Maidstone at no extra cost.

There are currently no trains between Paddock Wood and Maidstone West

Only a limited service is running between Maidstone West and Strood.

Passengers are advised to check their travel arrangements before departing and expect delays.

The incident has now been dealt with and trains are resuming.
