Step into the Wild West, meet the marauding Vikings or head into the trenches in the Second World War this bank holiday weekend.

More than 4,000 re-enactors will do battle in conflicts from around the globe at the annual Military Odyssey, coming to the Kent Showground in Detling near Maidstone.

The 200-acre site will be taken over with two separate arenas and a main battlefield for the show, which runs from Saturday, August 24 to Bank Holiday Monday, August 26.
