Military Odyssey comes to the Kent Showground near Maidstone for the bank holiday weekend

Step into the Wild West, meet the marauding Vikings or head into the trenches in the Second World War this bank holiday weekend.

More than 4,000 re-enactors will do battle in conflicts from around the globe at the annual Military Odyssey, coming to the Kent Showground in Detling near Maidstone.

The 200-acre site will be taken over with two separate arenas and a main battlefield for the show, which runs from Saturday, August 24 to Bank Holiday Monday, August 26.

There will also be some 250 stalls with historical collectables and crafts, 200 military vehicles, as well as numerous food courts, a beer tent and beer hall and an indoor seating area.
