Pop and Bark’s golden retriever cafe is coming to Pitcher and Piano in Tunbridge Wells

A pop-up golden retriever cafe has got tails wagging with its tour of the country - and the next stop is Kent.

Dog owners will be able to bring their four-legged friends to the 80-minute off-lead experience and give their pups a chance to socialise with similar dogs.

The tour, which will visit Pitcher and Piano in Tunbridge Wells on Sunday, September 3, has its own ‘Pupuccino’ bar and dog-friendly bakery.

Rudi’s Doggy Bakery will have all-natural ‘pupcakes’ and cookies along with treats such as chocolate drops and peanut butter sprinkles.

The owners will also get their very own treats as the bar will be serving its usual food menu and a selection of summer cocktails.

While the two-legged visitors sit and chat with other dog owners, the pooches will be free to roam around the bar, play with other retrievers - affectionately known as goldies - and make friends with both dogs and humans.

The idea comes from Pop and Bark, a company that specialises in breed-specific dog events including the Dachshund Disco and Cavalier Cafe.

The pair behind the company, James and Anushka, appeared on Dragons’ Den with their pug Bertie earlier this year to try and boost their business, which began as a Pug Cafe in Guildford in 2017.

While the couple failed to secure an investment from the Dragons, Pop and Bark has since thrived.

The two have created the world’s first mobile pupuccino bar, having served more than 30,000 of the creamy dog-friendly treats so far, and have also raised more than £10,000 for charity through their events.

The Kent date will also feature dog-themed furniture and props for photo opportunities, pet accessories from the Crafty Dog Co and an outdoor terrace.

Tickets are mostly sold out, but the few that remain can be booked online here.

The remaining tickets start from £13.75 plus booking fee.
