The group, aged 18-45 and from Ashford, Hawkinge and Dover, have now reached the halfway point, covering more than 528km.

Their fundraiser has already surpassed its original £1,000 goal and the team now want to collect £2,000.

George Head, from Singleton, says the response has been “amazing”.

He said: “We run together a lot as a group – although obviously all together not at the moment, as we’re only allowed to meet in pairs.

“We wanted to stay fit during lockdown and this was a great way to do it while raising money.

"The coronavirus pandemic is having a huge impact on everyone's mental health.

"We want to help Mind be there for everyone who needs them at this crucial time."
