Man hits cars with shovel in Swanley

A man brandishing a shovel has gone on the rampage, smashing up at least seven vehicles.

Extensive damage was caused to multiple windows and windscreens of parked cars during the early hours of yesterday in Swanley.

The suspect fled after being challenged by some of those living in the areas he targeted, including Lime Road, Hart Dyke Road, Rowen Road and Lynden Way. It all happened between 1.30am and 1.45am.

He is described as white, in his late teens to early 20s, around 5ft 7ins, of slim build with dark brown hair, which was long on top. He was wearing dark clothing.

Officers have since carried out house-to-house inquiries and are also working to find out if the man has struck anywhere else.

They are also urging people living in and near these roads to check any private CCTV footage which could help with their investigation.
