A fallen tree which temporarily closed the line at Deal has now been removed but Southeastern say services are running at a reduced speed.

The travel chaos is a result of high winds across the county and follows yesterday's yellow weather warning.

The Met Office say the warning will be in force until 6pm with a number of firework displays, including Kent's biggest at Leeds Castle being cancelled.

The Network says all lines are running reasonably well with the exception of:

  • Medway Valley line - major disruption
  • Hayes line - major disruption
  • High Speed line via Ashford - minor disruption
  • High Speed line via Gravesend - minor disruption
  • Sole Street line - minor disruption

People are advised to check for updates via @Se_Railway before travelling.

DFDS Seaways have suspended also ferry services at Dover due to adverse weather conditions.

More as we get it.
