Four men arrested in Maidstone after vehicles and batteries reported stolen from solar farm in Faversham

Four men have been arrested on suspicion of burglary following a break-in at a solar farm.

Employees at the business in Staple Street, Faversham found their premises had been targeted after arriving at work following the weekend.

After searching the farm at around 6.30am on Monday they found eight solar batteries, a portable heater and two vehicles had gone missing.

Four men were then stopped by police in Sandling Lane, Maidstone at about 3.30pm later the same day, in two of the vehicles reported stolen.

Three, aged 19, 43 and 53 from Ashford, as well as a 35-year-old from Tunbridge Wells, were arrested on suspicion of burglary and theft.

The 52-year-old was also arrested on suspicion of possessing a bladed article in a public place.

They have since been bailed until March 10 next year while police continue their investigation.
