Care home residents have been channelling their inner Mary Berry ahead of next week's Great British Bake Off finale.
Pensioners at Edward Moore House Residential Care Home in Gravesend were invited to put their baking skills to the test as part of an internal cooking competition.
The management team assumed the roles of Bake Off judges, Prue and Paul, as they assessed each show-stopper.
Contestants were encouraged to whip up a tasty treat with many drawing inspiration from their favourite family recipes.
Staff scoured through each entry and were happy to reveal there was not a "soggy bottom in sight".
The judges pronounced resident, Kay, as the winner who produced a colourfully decorated Victoria sponge.
The final of the Channel 4 show will hit TV screens on Tuesday October 29 at 8pm.
Melanie Martin, deputy manager at the care home, said the Bake-Off inspired competition was a great success.
She said: “Lots of our residents used to love baking for their families and some of them even remember the recipes, so, we thought it’d be a great idea to host our own Bake-Off inspired competition within the home.
“The residents absolutely loved the activity as it was a bit different to our usual baking sessions, the competitive element made it a real laugh and it’s definitely something we’d like to do again!”
