Woman hit by train at Higham station in 'serious but stable condition'

A woman is in a stable condition after she was hit by a train yesterday.

The casualty was taken to hospital by air ambulance after being struck at Higham station at 11.32am.

She remains in hospital and is in a "serious, but stable condition", according to the British Transport Police.

The incident is not being treated as suspicious.

Southeastern suspended rail services running through the area for an hour-and-a-half while police, fire, and ambulance crews dealt with the incident.
