Gravesend Rugby Club have appointed Chris Wilkins as their new coach for next season.

Wilkins will replace Matt Williams, who was sacked by the north Kent club last month.

The director of rugby at Whitgift School, Wilkins has also been involved in rugby development in Kent for the past few years.

He was named as Gravesend's new coach ahead of their 99-0 win over Beckenham on Saturday.

Wilkins will take charge of the team from the start of the 2014/14 campaign, with Malcolm Moaby continuing to lead the coaching staff for the rest of this season.

Gravesend are second in London 1 South, one point behind leaders Chichester with a game in hand.
