It is expected services will remain disrupted until around 5.15pm while the bike is removed.

The incident occurred when the 3.05pm train from Ashford hit the bicycle on the line between Maidstone and Barming.

Southeastern is advising passengers that trains through the affected area could be delayed or revised at short notice.

A replacement bus service is being put into operation between Ashford International and Maidstone East, so if you are planning to travel you should allow extra time to complete your journey.

Passengers may be entitled to compensation if they experience a delay in completing their journey because of this incident.
