Police are investigating claims a woman was raped in Maidstone last night.

Officers were called to the Wallis Avenue area of Park Wood at 7.17pm.

VIDEO: Police remain at the scene this morning.

Witnesses reported a heavy police presence in the area and said an alleyway had been taped off.

This assault comes just days after a man was seriously sexually assaulted in a park off Cumberland Avenue in Shepway, just 1.5 miles from Wallis Avenue.

Police do not believe the incidents are linked.
